Stress Management & Burnout

Constant stress – whether caused by relationships, home pressures or workplace stresses, can leave you feeling depleted, disillusioned, helpless, exhausted and fatigued.

Ignoring stress triggers and ineffective management can lead to burnout.

Burnout is a state of mental, emotional and physical exhaustion that often comes on after prolonged periods of excessive stress. (Physiologically, the stress hormone cortisol has been pumping through your body as the fight or flight response and this needs reducing). As time goes on if the stress continues, you find that motivation, productivity and energy are hard to find, and the feelings of resentfulness and hopelessness can become overwhelming.

These negative effects of burnout can start to affect every area of your life – home, work and social – and can actually make you more vulnerable to illnesses.

You could be on the path to burnout if:

  • You find it hard to have any good days

  • You have no energy left to care about your home or work life

  • You are overwhelmingly tired all the time

  • You have lost your desire to socialise

  • You feel underappreciated or that nothing you do makes any difference

It’s important to reach out when you feel like you are reaching a point of burnout. I can work with you to give you tools to manage the stress triggers in your life and help you make the necessary changes to put you back on a path of a happy life.
